Who can apply for the tourist visa online?

The Saudi tourist visa is for leisure stays: sightseeing, family trips, events and short stays. On the official Visit Saudi site, Canada is listed among the countries whose citizens can apply for the eVisa online. The Government of Canada adds that Canadians can get the tourist visa online before the trip or on arrival at the airport.

Living in Canada without Canadian citizenship? Then it depends on your nationality: on the official page, residence in Canada does not, on its own, give access to the eVisa. Tell us your nationality and we will check with you which route applies.

According to the Government of Canada and Visit Saudi, Muslim tourists can also perform Umrah with this visa by booking their appointment on the official Nusuk platform. Restrictions apply around the Hajj period. See also our Umrah visa page.

What you need for the eVisa application

Two lists follow, because the process depends on your passport. With a Canadian passport, the tourist visa is the eVisa, applied for online: a clear colour copy of your passport and a recent photo on a white background are enough. With another passport, the application goes through the Embassy with a paper file: application form, photo, employment letter, bank statements, proof of your address and of your status in Canada, the notification paper and, when required, your original passport. In both cases, Visit Saudi and the Government of Canada state that your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date you enter Saudi Arabia: check that date first.

Documents usually requested

  • Passport scan
  • Personal information form
  • Travel dates and entry point
  • Valid email address

These requirements can change; our team confirms the current list for your application.

How the tourist visa application works

  1. 1

    Check your eligibility

We confirm with you that your nationality gives access to the eVisa and that your passport will be valid long enough.

  2. 2

    Prepare the application

You send us the requested information and we prepare the application with you, checking every field: spelling of names, passport number, dates.

  3. 3

    Submission on the official portal

The application is submitted on the official Saudi eVisa portal with the checked information.

  4. 4

    Decision

The Saudi authorities make the decision. We then check with you that the issued visa matches your passport.

Who decides, and when

The tourist visa is issued at the discretion of the Saudi authorities: online for the eVisa, by the Embassy of Saudi Arabia for other passports. No agency can promise a date or a decision, and we do not publish timelines.

Apply as soon as your travel dates are known rather than at the last minute, and wait for the visa before buying non-refundable tickets.

An online application, wherever you are in Canada

Because the eVisa is applied for online, we can help you wherever you are in Canada, by phone, without you having to travel. If your situation calls for a process other than the eVisa, your documents can be sent to us by mail or brought to our Montreal office.

Saudi tourist visa FAQ

Can I get the tourist visa on arrival?

Yes. The Government of Canada and Visit Saudi state that Canadian citizens can also get the tourist visa on arrival in Saudi Arabia, with a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry. Applying online before you leave still avoids surprises at the airport.

I am a permanent resident of Canada with another nationality. Can I apply for the eVisa?

It depends on your nationality. If your country is on Visit Saudi’s eVisa list, yes. If not, residence in Canada alone is not enough according to the official page; other routes may apply, such as a US, UK or Schengen visa or residence permit under certain conditions, or an application through the Embassy. Contact us to check your situation.

Can I work or study on the tourist visa?

No. The Government of Canada states that a work visa is required to work in Saudi Arabia and a student visa is required to study there. See our pages on those visas.

Can a child get the eVisa?

According to Visit Saudi, the eVisa can be applied for at any age. A minor travelling without a guardian must also follow their own country’s rules on travelling alone.

How long can I stay in Saudi Arabia?

Validity and length of stay depend on the type of eVisa (single or multiple entry) and are set by the Saudi authorities. We tell you the conditions in force when you apply. The Government of Canada warns that overstaying leads to heavy fines.

Can you guarantee that my visa will be approved?

No. No agency can guarantee a visa: the decision belongs solely to the Saudi authorities. Our role is to help you submit a complete and accurate file.
