Saudi family visit visa from Canada

Want to visit your parents, spouse or children who live in Saudi Arabia? The family visit visa starts there: your relative files the request with the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Here, Voyages Classy Travel, an authorized agent of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Canada, prepares and submits your file, wherever you live in the country.

Who is the Saudi family visit visa for?

This visa is for people living in Canada who are invited by a family member based in Saudi Arabia, either a Saudi citizen or a resident holding a residence permit (iqama). According to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the family visit service covers first-degree relatives: parents, spouse and children.

The Ministry also states that a resident must hold a valid work-based residence permit, not a dependant’s permit. If your situation doesn’t fit these conditions, we check with you which visa fits before you start, for example the tourist visa.

Documents to prepare

Your file brings together two kinds of documents. Some come from Saudi Arabia, such as the invitation reference your relative obtains. The rest you provide in Canada: your passport, your photo and proof of your family relationship, for example a marriage or birth certificate. Here is the basic list; depending on your situation (a minor child, an applicant who is not a Canadian citizen, and so on), additional documents may be requested.

Documents usually requested

  • Saudi invitation/approval reference
  • Proof of relationship
  • Passport valid for at least 6 months
  • Applicant photo

This list can change: we confirm the exact documents and their format (copy, certified copy, translation) for your file before you send anything.

The steps, from Saudi Arabia to Canada

  1. 1

Your relative files the request in Saudi Arabia

Your parent, spouse or child in Saudi Arabia fills in the family visit request on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa platform. This step happens there, by your relative: we cannot do it for them.

  2. 2

    They send you the reference

Once the request is accepted, your relative sends you the invitation reference and the details we ask for. Forward them to us as soon as you have them.

  3. 3

    You contact us

Call us or send an inquiry online. We check that the invitation matches a family visit and send you the list of documents to prepare.

  4. 4

    You hand in your file

Bring your documents to our Montreal office or mail them from anywhere in Canada. We check every document and fill in the application with you.

  5. 5

    Submission and follow-up

As an authorized agent of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Canada, we submit your file through the proper channel and follow up on it. The decision belongs to the Saudi authorities.

  6. 6

    You receive your visa

As soon as the decision is made, we let you know and send you your visa. We also return your documents in the way agreed with you.

Who decides, and when

The visa is issued at the discretion of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia. No agency can promise a date or a decision, and we do not publish timelines: each file is examined on its own by the Saudi authorities.

What we control is the quality of the file: complete, consistent and submitted the way it is expected. A complete file from the start avoids back-and-forth. Wait until you have your visa before buying a non-refundable ticket.

Anywhere in Canada, by mail

Our clients come from Montréal, Quebec City, Trois-Rivières, Sherbrooke, Ottawa, Toronto, the rest of Ontario and anywhere else in Canada: you can send us your documents by mail. We first tell you what to send and how your documents will come back to you.

Saudi family visit visa: frequently asked questions

Does my relative have to fill in the request in Arabic?

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the data is entered in Arabic, except for visitors of non-Arab nationalities, whose names must then match their passport exactly. Send your relative a copy of your passport page before they file the request.

Which family members can be invited?

The Ministry’s family visit service covers first-degree relatives: parents, spouse and children. For any other relationship, we check with you which visa fits best.

Can a Saudi citizen invite a friend?

Not with the family visit visa. The Ministry offers Saudi citizens a separate service, the personal visa, to invite someone with no business or family relationship. Tell us about your situation and we will guide you.

I live outside Quebec. Can you help me?

Yes. Our visa service covers all of Canada: you send us your documents by mail, and we follow your file with you by phone or email.

Can you guarantee that the visa will be granted?

No. Nobody can: the decision belongs to the Saudi authorities. Our role is to submit a complete, compliant file so that a missing document doesn’t hold you up.
